Quick Tips: Getting Ready for Baby

Yael with white space

Yael Denbo, co-founder of inBloom – NYC’s premiere baby planning service – knows how to nest. Here’s how Yael (pictured here in May at her baby shower – she gave birth to an amazing baby boy in July!) readied her home for baby:

Kitchen Prep: Your kitchen will be a hub of activity. Sterilize cabinets and surfaces, from the top down. And eliminate clutter. You’ll need the space.

Pre-wash: Baby clothes, sheets and blankets can be filled with chemicals. Pre-wash anything that will touch baby’s skin with a safe detergent like Dreft.

First Aid Kit: Keep an infant nail clipper, cotton balls, thermometer, nasal aspirator, infant Tylenol and baby gas drops within reach. And always discuss medications with your pediatrician before giving to baby.

Thanks Yael!

  1. Yes, and don’t underestimate the number of clothes you’ll need to wash. Buy lots of Dreft.
