Deb's Story: Kitchen Calm

Maeve helps Deb to find calm inside her chaotic family kitchen. #organizing

Before Maeve's Method

As a new mom in a new home, Deb hadn’t had time to create the systems she needed, and months later found herself overwhelmed by her kitchen. She wanted to ground the family home. The two junk drawers were overflowing onto counters, and the area was busy and not meeting her needs. #busymom #junkdrawer

After Maeve's Method

Maeve’s Method helped Deb to create a clean and calming kitchen. Maeve and Deb were able to figure out what Deb was actually using in the kitchen, and what needed to be moved or tossed. The two junk drawers were reduced to one, and organized with small (recycled!) boxes. Deb was able to use the extra empty drawer to store her computer between uses – an item that had been taking up valuable counter space.

Deb's favorite part by far was using recycled boxes for inner storage, a Maeve's Method tip. Deb keeps her home as green as possible, and the chance to reuse what she already had at home, was a bonus. #homebeforestore

I had no idea how much stuff and dirt had accumulated in my kitchen drawers. I now have homes for all the items, which will make it much easier to keep clean. I even found a satellite home for my computer – an unexpected surprise!
